    Employee Resource Groups

    Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at The Jackson Laboratory are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster an inclusive workplace aligned with the JAX mission. These groups are formed around shared characteristics or interests. ERGs at JAX provide a supportive community for employees, promote professional development, and contribute to the company's overall inclusion strategy. By offering a platform for networking, mentorship, and advocacy, ERGs help create a more engaged and empowered workforce.

    Employees who join ERGs can:

    • Help JAX by increasing awareness and knowledge around specific identities or topics in the workplace
    • Identify opportunities for us to become more inclusive.
    • Identify best practices throughout the organization and get those communicated as broadly as possible for others to continue using.
    • Provide greater opportunities to connect with senior management.
    • Form greater camaraderie amongst employees at all levels of the organization.

    JAX ERGs include:

    • BELIEVE (Black Employees Leading in Education Vision and Excellence): BELIEVE is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates the unique experiences of Black employees and their allies.
    • DCI (Disability & Chronic Illness): Support group dedicated to the awareness and inclusion of those with disabilities, chronic illness, their caregivers, and allies.
    • Desi: oster awareness and celebrate the cultural backgrounds of the Indian subcontinent by providing learning opportunities and community-building events for JAX employees.     • The JAX Green Team: Dedicated to organizing local projects to advance each campus' sustainability.
    • JAX Parents: Serve and support employees who strive to balance work life and parenting.
    • JAX Pride: Community for LGBTQ+ employees and allies. JAX Pride is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ employees and allies at JAX. 
    • One Community: Supports local JAX communities through hands-on, collaborative community outreach and volunteerism.
    • Todos Nosotros: Welcome to all interested in Latinx culture and heritage.
    • Veterans ERG: The mission of the JAX Veterans Employee Resource Group (Veterans ERG) is to embrace our proud community of employee veterans who support and encourage each other through shared experiences, veteran recruitment, career development, outward engagement, professional growth and retention.
    • WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering): Provides meaningful opportunities for networking, professional and personal development, mentorship, and community building within JAX, while also advocating for key issues that disproportionately affect women.
